2011 SPORTSWOMEN OF COLORADO AWARDS

Sportswomen of Colorado, Inc. will pay tribute to Colorado's outstanding female athletes and to the coaches, mentors and others who have contributed to girls and women's athletics at its 38th Annual Awards Banquet to be held on Sunday, March 11th, 2012. Honors will be awarded for performance in 2011. A media panel will select award winners from nominations submitted.

NOMINATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED ONLINE, POSTMARKED OR FAXED NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 17, 2011.

To Nominate An Award Winner:

1. If possible, select an award category for your nominee.

2. Athletic awards will be based on performance during 2011, so a summary of 2011 achievements should be included. Use the back of the attached form to list the nominee's achievements in 2011.

3. Interesting sidelights, including scholastic and community service activities are welcome.

4. Please attach 1-2 letters of endorsement.

a. Most awards will be given for outstanding achievement in specific sports, such as, but not limited to, basketball, cross country running, cycling, golf, gymnastics, horsemanship, skiing, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. High school, collegiate, amateur, professional, recreational and master's athletes are eligible.

b. A Coach of the Year and Pioneer Honoree also will be named, the latter for exceptional pioneering contributions to athletics, recreation or sports in general over a period of time.

c. At the Selection Panel's discretion, additional "Special Category" awards may be presented for activities in 2011 and/or over a period of time. Previous headings have been: Most Courageous, Comeback, Leadership, Contribution to Sports, Recreation, Special Olympics and Most Inspirational.

d. It is possible some categories will not be filled. All nominations become the sole property of Sportswomen of Colorado, Inc.
