Colorado's top female athletes and contributors to women's athletics, selected by a panel of sportswriters and sportscasters from around the state, were honored by Sportswomen of Colorado at its 34th Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at the Marriott Tech Center.

This year's Sportswoman of the Year winner is skeleton racer Katie Uhlaender. Katie claimed the women's skeleton 2007 World Cup crown after dominating the tour last year winning six medals in eight events, including 5 gold and one silver. A member of the 2006 Olympic Team, she's a four time national champion … and very much on track to defend her title this year. Katie describes her sport as relaxed chaos as she guides her bobsled down the track -- headfirst -- at speeds up to 80 miles an hour!
